March

Think of March like a bridge.

A crossing over. From the slumber and hibernation of Winter, into the season of new life.

It can often feel like picking yourself up,

dusting yourself off,

the winter is fading, the days become longer,

the sun comes out more often,

life is starting become more vivid outside of ourselves,

and what’s really wonderful— it is usually two fold.

The shift in the season creates new life and inspiration within you.

This March is especially inviting to us.

One year ago, our world shut down with little notice and a lot of unknowns. We had to take care of ourselves in new ways we had never done before. We had to take care of eachother in new ways. We had to wait, and be patient, and soften into the unknown. We had to pivot and change plans. We had to spend more time with our families. Less time with our community. We could have never known at the beginning of last March what the end of March was going to look like. How vastly different. How quickly what was normal could change.

We are still healing as a world. We are still navigating. We are still on our way.

So, as we are on the bridge, crossing over, what will you bring with you?
What does the other side look like for you?
What can come with you and what needs to stay on the other side?

You get to pick.

Step forward, step in, keep on doing the good work that guides you back home to you.

We love you so much.

Inspire yourself this month. What moves you? What motivates you? What lights up your soul?

WHAT OUR TEAM IS DOING

“I love to curate mood boards when I am feeling in a slump. My favorite resource for this is Pinterest! I love finding images I love and then looking at the suggested boards for those images. Total rabbit hole but it’s so much fun and I always find new beautiful images or quotes.” - Liv Monte

“I keep reminding myself to continue to show up and lean into my new job even though it’s scary being new at something, it feels very rewarding sticking with it!” - Andrea Pung

“Getting intentionally still, turn down the noise, me with me.” - Katie Mann

“I am working on sleep hygiene in every possible way so that I may be AWAKE in this life.” - Ali Walker

Some new places to tap into inspiration.

“A girl from my church made this Oracle deck and it’s beautiful. I like just drawing a card or two and using it as a journal prompt. Reading the word, thinking about what resonates with me, looking at her artwork, just tuning out and tuning in with it, using it as a tool for meditation and reflection.” - Amelia Ritter
Get the deck here.

“Yung Pueblos Inward book is simply nuggets of gold and thought starters, I randomly choose a page every day and am consistently amazed.” - Hayley Pierzynski

“Soft By Kiana Azizian. She writes poetry. Her first book was more about heartbreak It was called... The Ocean and You. This one is more about herself after that. Some poems are still dark, but you can see the difference in her tone.” - Ella Johncox

New Perspectives, New Ways

IMG_5702 2.jpg

We started March by hosting one of our beloved Space clients Kimberly Brown for a special 80 minute class. It was SO good to be led in a new way. To do something different. To experience a new path of yoga and breath, new perspectives. It was a perfect reminder of one of our greatest lessons in the last year: arrive. Again and again and again. Stay open to navigating and exploring. We had a blast. Thank you Kim Brown! We love you.

N A M A S T E

What does it mean? Why do we say it?

“The light in me sees and honors the light in you, Namaste.”

If you’ve taken a yoga class here or elsewhere, you’ve likely heard the phrase at the end of the practice. The word originated in what is now Pakistan, the northwestern corner of India. The word Namaste is a word of the Sanskrit language. The first part of the word “namaha” means “to bend” or “to bow” showing respect to something superior to you. Over time, the word has shifted to mean less of “to bend/bow” and has adapted the meaning “greetings” or “salutations”. “Te”, the second part of the word, means “to you”. In the progressive Yoga culture it has been a way to communicate, “the divine that lives within me, honors the divine that lives in you”. We love to reflect on why we are doing something in particular, it’s good to know where it began and the meaning. A conscious awareness to our actions. Think about this next time you are sealing out your practice. Think of it as a gratitude, an honoring, a way to see those around you, putting in the work, walking this same human existence as you.

So what’s next for you?

What is on the other side of the bridge for you?

Where will you draw your inspiration from?

How will you carve out time to get there?

We love you so much.
