December

If it’s not a hell yes, it’s a no.

You might have have heard it a time or two, or maybe it’s your first. This age old mantra that makes making a choice pretty black and white. Why do we do things that we only halfway, if even at all, want to?

We have been practicing this mantra to ourselves within the studio the last month. You might have heard or felt some of the buzz of some exciting things in the works— expansion. When you begin to put energy into something, the people around you feel it and we were all really excited.

The newly opened real estate next door presented itself to us and we had first dibs. Well— of course we want to expand! It’s an easy yes. Forever the question has been WHEN? This was our sign, the next steps for us. We are ready. We can generate new ideas and systems and offerings to fill the new space and we have to give it a try.

As we began brainstorming all the moving parts and really looking at the big picture, the longevity and sustainability for us, it seemed that we began having to really dig for how to make this really worth it for us. How it would be fruitful for the business and take us to the next level.

We went back and forth for weeks, calling in Architects, Contractors, Business Consultants, working with the Landlords, trying to pull the pieces together. Trying to morph a vision that would fit within the new space, the budget, the team and practitioners behind it all.

Along the way, the question of “is this meant for us? Is this the next step for The Space?”

It’s good to pose question, but how long should you sit in the in between? How long do you try to make it work? To allow it to become the fool-proof decision you are looking for? We felt we were never fully arriving into that knowing. We were then facing the decision to sign the contract and it all became so clear.

“Moving forward seemed like a no brainer until it didn’t and the work comes in differentiating between fear and intuition. We have a beautiful thing going and expansion has been the direction we have been desiring. Then roadblock after road block led to a new piece of the work…fear again rises. Fear surrounding letting the community down.

Sometimes saying NO is harder than saying YES. Often times we get caught up in a whirlwind of wanting to please and satisfy at the expense of our own soul and pocket book.” -Kelli McMullen

If it’s not a hell yes, it’s a no.

If there is no full-body-full-mind-full-soul KNOWING, then you can say NO. Not every opportunity that presents itself, no matter how good it looks, or how simple it might seem on the surface, if any part of your body says no, you are allowed to set the boundary and step away from the opportunity.

This theme seems to arise for a lot of people in the midst of Holiday’s. It can be a really joyous season, AND it can be a really chaotic time where we subject ourselves to the wishes and demands of things and people outside of ourselves. Our time can suddenly feel like it’s not our own. And we rush from one thing to the next without ever fully arriving. We saw this on instagram the other day and it rings true for this season we are in—

Let’s break holiday traditions that leave us broke, overwhelmed, and tired.

If something comes this holiday season that doesn’t fill your cup, or make complete sense, or feel like a YES, you are allowed to say no. In addition, you don’t owe anyone an explanation. Your greatest job in this life is to protect and do what you need to do to create longevity, sustainability, and a life well taken care of for YOU.

So we invite you, whether it has anything to do with the holidays or something else thats real within your life, check in with your knowing. Does your spirit say HELL YES, or does it linger below wishing for a different experience?

Get clear so you can get connected.

We are not moving forward with a “next door” expansion, but we are manifesting and calling in an opportunity that brings peace, growth and longevity to the Space and all the incredible Souls who create the space. How are you expanding in a sustainable way this season and staying true to the deepest part of you?

We love you so much.

SHOP LOCAL

Shopping local is the BEST— especially during the holiday season. We have loaded our retail shelves with really amazing and thoughtful gifts. Give the gift of taking care to your loved ones this year. Gifts that guide one back to themselves again and again.

Ritual Over Tradition

Breaking up with old traditions that leave us depleted requires us to create new rituals that become our new traditions.

Rituals that might help keep you guided and grounded this Holiday season :

  1. Create a non-negotiable practice. Whether it be taking a long hot shower at the end of the day to wash it all off or waking up 10 minutes before everyone else does to have your coffee in silence by the Christmas tree (no phone ;)). Picking something that you can do every single day as a moment to check in.

  2. Create something from scratch. Working with our hands is a powerful method to root into our chakra system, creating balance and harmony. Whether you try a new food recipe, cookie recipe, or you make something for your loved ones instead of purchasing, get crafty. Pinterest is our bestie for this one.

  3. Go for a brisk walk. Don’t get us wrong, we love a HOT movement specific class, but there is nothing like a brisk walk outdoors. Nature is good for the nervous system. Let your eyes look up and around you. Take conscious deep breaths. Smell the winter air. Listen to the quietness that the winter wraps around the environment.

Taking time to maintain or regain connection within is essential in walking forward in alignment, especially in busier seasons! We hope this list serves you well.
